Jewelry care begins with the materials and finishes in each piece. Keep any care instructions that came with it, and ask a jeweler if you are unsure which cleaning method is suitable.

Give each piece its own space

Store necklaces separately to help prevent tangled chains. Use individual soft compartments for rings and pearl jewelry so they do not rub against other pieces. Fasten necklace clasps before putting them away.

Put jewelry on last

Allow perfume and skin products to dry before adding your jewelry. Remove pieces before swimming, exercising or household cleaning, and avoid leaving them beside a sink where they can slip away.

Choose a gentle routine

After wearing, gently wipe jewelry with a soft cloth suitable for its finish. Avoid abrasive cleaners and do not assume every stone or pearl can go in an ultrasonic cleaner. Have loose settings or damaged clasps checked before wearing the piece again.
